Katy leads Raleigh tours, and she has led all Durham Taqueria Tours over the years. She also leads downtown Durham tours. And Carrboro tours, too. A jack-of-all trades, clearly – but most importantly, Katy is a fantastic host… down-to-earth with natural Southern hospitality!

What do you love best about North Carolina? The changing leaves during fall.

What do you love best about leading food tours? Sharing great food with new people while supporting awesome locally owned restaurants.

What are your favorite foods? (List three) Chocolate, Manchego cheese, and Good bread.

What is your comfort food? Chicken Pox Chicken (A dish my mother invented from my favorite foods when I was little and had, you guessed it, chicken pox! It’s a chicken and cheese casserole).

What is your favorite drink? Red wine! I love Zinfandels and good Spanish Rioja.

What food/s won’t you eat/ try? Anything with an egg hidden in the middle of it, namely the Chinese Moon Cake (no offense to my Chinese students!)

Who is the one person you would love to cook with? Anthony Bourdain. I think he would be cool to hang out with.

What are your hobbies? Baking, crafts, eating, working out (to support the latter hobby).

Favorite restaurant? Neomonde Deli.

Favorite sandwich? The grilled pimento cheese and bacon sandwich from Parker & Otis.

Favorite cookie? White chocolate macadamia nut.
